Vice President, Sales

Position Summary

The Vice President, Sales will provide strategic and operational leadership to the company’s sales function. This person will be responsible for delivering financial targets for both new system sales and existing customer sales. The person will develop sales plans including sales quotas, forecasts, and pipelines. They will work closely with marketing personnel giving input on lead generation, pricing and market share objectives. This position will provide leadership to all Sales Team members responsible for generation of sales leads, new business and existing client development. The Vice President, Sales will also provide frequent assistance to the President with sales updates and reporting as well as other special projects. As a member of the Sigma Micro Executive Team, the Vice President, Sales will be a key participant in the company’s business and go-to-market strategy.

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Direct definition of strategic/operational components of sales plans, in conjunction with company’s long-range strategic objectives.
  • Hire and develop sales team that has the best possible talent in each role. This includes structuring compensation and incentive plans, and coaching and keeping top talent.
  • Schedule sales team projects and monitoring progress; ensure that targeted business and sales related goals are achieved; assure proper lead flow through the process occurs; manage activities of sales team.
  • Manage and develop network of client contacts; generate and qualify new business leads; identify new target areas and opportunities; evaluate sales prospects using established processes; ensure client retention.
  • Prepare reports/reviews outlining assignments, project status, awards; maintain communication and coordinate activities between business development and staff.
  • Proactively communicate to the President proposed solutions and recommended course of action for team projects and issues.

Sales Representative

Position Summary

Sigma Micro offers a complete set of integrated order management and fulfillment software solutions for catalog, web store, call center and point of sale retailers. With our flagship product, Sigma Commerce, we offer leading edge technology for multichannel retailers. The Sales Representative at Sigma will be responsible for the generation of revenue via sales of the SigmaCommerce product to potential clients in an assigned region. A successful person in this role will possess strong sales skills and technical knowledge, communication and organization skills and will demonstrate the ability to work both independently and as a team member.

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Sales of SigmaCommerce systems to new clients primarily via face-to-face contact
  • Lead generation, qualification, orchestration, demonstration and bid preparation
  • Prospecting/referrals from existing clients
  • Follow-up on leads generated through magazine advertising
  • Manage the sales process from needs analysis to close and solution
  • Configuration and proposal creation/negotiation
  • Learn and use the company’s CRM application to record all relevant sales activities
  • Responsible for moderately complex and somewhat difficult to close sales
  • Other job related duties as assigned


Scope
The Sales Representative works with all departments within the Company with supervision from the Vice President, Sales. The level of responsibility for the position may rise from what is stated above to the capabilities of the individual.

Requirements
  • A four year college degree in business, selling/sales management or similar preferred.
  • At least 4 years of related experience required
  • Significant travel required
  • Software industry knowledge and experience; experience in Retail or ERP software sales preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership to other team members
  • Multi-task oriented with desire to work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Strong organization skills
  • Strong decision making and critical reasoning skills
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Professional appearance and attitude
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products and CRM applications
