INDIANAPOLIS (IN), January 24, 2008– Sigma Micro, the trusted provider of enterprise software and solutions for the direct retail market, announced today that Scuba Schools International (SSI) has chosen SigmaCommerce order management software as the technology foundation to support its continuing growth.
SSI selected SigmaCommerce after intensive due diligence and review of the system’s functionality. The software’s single database platform was a significant factor because it connects every business user with the same real-time information, according to Linda Clark, Director of Purchasing and Operations for SSI. She pointed out that these new efficiencies will contribute directly to the company’s bottom line.
“The labor-saving features such as emailing invoices and PDFs loaded in the system, more flexible and interesting options for promotions, and enhanced report writing will allow more of our employees to take care of their own needs,” Clark remarked.
Clark highlighted other advantages the system will bring to SSI’s worldwide network of scuba diving enthusiasts. “We’re excited that the new Microsoft platform will make it so easy to use the system and train employees,” she said.
SigmaCommerce manages customer facing functions like catalog creation, campaigns, promotions, and website management, as well as back-office operations like warehousing and order fulfillment. These all-inclusive features contributed to Scuba Schools International’s decision to select SigmaCommerce. The application is built entirely on Microsoft .Net framework 3.0 and available as a Web-based application. Along with its software as a service (SaaS) delivery model, Sigma Micro provides full hosting for Web stores built within the application.
According to the Direct Marketing Association’s latest benchmark report on critical issues and trends, the top concerns for direct marketers include managing multiple marketing channels and finding new prospects. Scuba Schools International faces those challenges in a globally competitive market and has chosen the SigmaCommerce system to manage them with improved efficiency for sustained growth.
